Drummer and bandleader Jack Parnell, remarked around the mainstream press as the Muppets bandleader, died from cancer in Southwold, Suffolk on Sunday, three days after his 87th birthday. An obituary will appear in a later edition of
Jazz Journal. Parnell also kicks off part three of Simon Spillett's survey of British rhythm sections, 1950-1970 in October's edition of JJ.
